Again, practice is the name of the game. when given the current competition. The only real
downsides are the data rate and security. Infrared
can have data rates of up to 4 MBps, which provides
very fast rates for data transfer, while Bluetooth
only offers 1 MBps.

For this very reason, infrared has yet to be
dispensed with completely and is considered by
many to be the complimentary technology to that
of Bluetooth. Infrared has inherent security due
to its line of sight.

The greater range and radio frequency (RF) of
Bluetooth make it much more open to interception and
attack. For this reason, security is a very key
aspect to the Bluetooth specification.

Although there are very few disadvantages, Bluetooth
still remains the best for short range wireless
technology. Those who have tried it love it, and

My Favorite Top 10 Stage Comedians

My Favorite Top 10 Stage Comedians. There are so many different styles of comedy and everyone has their own, at least the ones that stand out do. You have the standard monologists that stand with a microphone and use words to craft their humor, musical type acts that either use instruments or sing and have musical accompaniment, prop acts that use visual aids to make the crowds laugh and improvisational acts that do comedy off the cuff. They are all great in their respective ways and I will not begin to categorize each and every style here. I will simply go through many stage performing comics and state why they are my favorites and then try to put it in a Top 10 list. There may even be some on here that you never heard of....yet! But that doesn't mean that they aren't amazingly funny. It just means that they aren't a household name. There are thousands of great comedians out there performing all the time on the world stage that haven't been discovered yet and just because you are great, it does not preclude that you will be a star.

So here we go: Robin Williams is a terrific example of comedy that has no boundaries. High energy and uninhibited with a flair for the dramatic and with a good percentage of improvisation thrown in. Jerry Seinfeld is a monologist that uses very well crafted words and sentences in observations on topics that everyone can relate to. Nothing comes out of his mouth that isn't carefully thought out beforehand. Richard Pryor was one of a kind when it came to stand up. You never knew what he was going to say but you knew sure as hell that it was going to be delivered in his irreverent style and that you were gonna laugh your ass off! George Carlin is the best of both worlds. He is a monologist, a wordsmith and his facial expressions are to die for. He is very animated in his approach and you can't help but get caught up in the show. Brian Regan also fits the same style of monology with animated goofy facial expressions. His material is all very relatable and makes him one of the most enjoyable acts working the circuit today. Howie Mandel is one of the best ad-libers in the business today. His wit and likability is flawless and when he first appeared on the scene in the late 70's would sometimes work in props to add to the experience. The Amazing Jonathan, like Howie, uses the audience to make a 'no two shows the same' kind of atmosphere. He uses props as aids and sort of does magic in a unique way. Steven Wright has a classic style. He uses well thought out and creative observational humor and puts it all in a very deadpan and deliberate delivery with his very own slant on things. I remember working with Steve at the old Improv in NYC. He was about to go on and looked very introspective and I asked him if he was okay. He looked up and in his low key voice said, "I'm very hyper." He kills me. Bill Cosby is the classic storyteller. No one can deliver them like he does. The best thing is that no matter how long the story is, you never get bored listening to him tell it. Great style and many have been influenced by him over the years. Victor Borge was definitely a master musical comedian. He started as a classical pianist, who later evolved into a consumate comedian. Known as 'The Great Dane', he surely was and is terribly missed. Otto and George is a Triple X rated ventriloquist that is very dirty and hysterically funny. He is one of a kind and one act that I absolutely love to watch when I am off and can get to a show. He makes me hurt from laughter. You never know what Otto is going to make George say. Sam Kinison was a comedian with a very irreverent style as Pryor was.

You never knew what topic he was going to rant about but you knew he was going to attack it with full force. A great, loud and funny stage persona. Jay Leno is a fantastic monologist. Don't go by what you see on The Tonight Show either because that is written material that has to be put together quickly by a staff of writers all of the time. Go see his live show and you will see the real Jay Leno. Like Seinfeld, he uses carefully crafted words to construct a very visual image for the audience to imagine. Abbott & Costello were one of the best comedy teams of all time. As I mentioned in other articles, they had the unique ability to mix cerebral material and slapstick together as one and present it in one of the most enjoyable presentations you could ever see. Don Rickels is a great crowd working comedian that uses the audience for his humor.

He breaks down all stereotypes and barriers and makes people realize that in the end we are the same. And even though his stage persona may come across as insulting in a comedy way, you know that in his soul he is a sweet, genuine and a very nice man. He is all those things. Martin & Lewis were a great comedy team that mixed slapstick with music. Dean had a great, warm and loving personality on stage and Jerry was the hyper wild kid that might do just about anything for the laugh. They were the show to see in the 50's and well worth any price of admission. Speed up slow PC - Squeeze every last drop of performance out of your XP

With faster machines cropping up almost daily, the life span of a midrange PC is a little more than two years of service. Physically, the computer you bought a few years ago is just as sound as any new piece of hardware. Ideally, it could probably last you a decade or two--as long as you didn't add any new software or surf the Net. Realistically, that's not likely to be the case. Instead of buying a new computer, optimize your present one. The following are 11 things that Chip Manufacturers and PC Retailers don't want you to know or how to perform. Following these advices will drastically increase your PC performance and help you regain your sanity while saving loads of money. And, if your PC is years old and can't afford to upgrade yet, you will be able to squeeze out some more juice out of the old thing!

1. Disable file indexing. This is a tiny service that uses a great deal of RAM and induces much disk thrashing. Your system instantly becomes more responsive. Here's how: First, doubleclick the My Computer icon. Then, right-click on the C: Drive, then hit Properties. Uncheck "Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file searching." Next, apply changes to "C: subfolders and files," and click OK.

2. Zap the Windows Prefetch folder every week. Windows XP can "prefetch" portions of data and applications that are frequently loaded. This allows processes appear to start faster when requested the user. Over time, the prefetch folder overwhelms with references to files and applications no longer in use. Guess what happens? Windows XP wastes time and grinds to a halt by pre-loading obsolete data. It helps you gain some performance on your XP Professional to periodically empty the prefetch folder.

The prefetch folder resides on your local hard disk, under the Windows folder.

X:\windows\prefetch

Where X is the drive letter where you have Windows installed. Either path will get you to your local system. The second path is for those who have the default installation on the most commonly used drive letter, C:\

3. Optimise Display Settings. Windows XP can look sexy but displaying all the visual items can waste system resources. Kill unnecessary animations, and nix active desktop. Here's how to do it:
1) Go to Start
2) Click Settings
3) Click Control Panel
4) Click System
5) Click Advanced tab
6) In the Performance tab click Settings
7) Leave only the following ticked:
(1) Show shadows under menus
(2) Show shadows under mouse pointer
(3) Show translucent selection rectangle
(4) Use drop shadows for icons labels on the desktop
(5) Use visual styles on windows and buttons
Feel free to play around with the options offered here, as nothing you can change will alter the stability of the computer - only its responsiveness.

4. Remove the Desktop Picture Your desktop background consumes a fair amount of memory and can slow the loading time of your system. Removing it will improve performance.
1) Right click on Desktop and select Properties
2) Select the Desktop tab
3) In the Background window select None
4) Click Ok

5. Remove Fonts for Speed Zap extra fonts fonts installed on their computer. Fonts, especially TrueType fonts, use quite a bit of system resources. The more fonts they have, the more lethargic the system will become. Anything over 300 fonts tax the system and slow down load times- especially graphic apps. For optimal performance, trim your fonts down to just those that you need to use on a daily basis and fonts that applications may require.
1) Open Control Panel
2) Open Fonts folder
3) Move fonts you don't need to a temporary directory (e.g. C:\FONTBKUP?) just in case you need or want to bring a few of them back. The more fonts you uninstall, the more system resources you will gain.

6. Speedup Folder Browsing You may have noticed that everytime you open my computer to browse folders that there is a slight delay. This is because Windows XP automatically searches for network files and printers everytime you open Windows Explorer. To fix this and to increase browsing significantly:
1) Open My Computer
2) Click on Tools menu
3) Click on Folder Options
4) Click on the View tab.
5) Uncheck the Automatically search for network folders and printers check box
6) Click Apply
7) Click Ok
8) Reboot your computer
To prevent a single Windows Explorer window tanking up takes the rest of your OS down, you can launch separate folder windows in multi processes. Open My Computer, hit on Tools, then Folder Options. Click on the View tab. Scroll down to "Launch folder windows in a separate process," and enable this option.

7. Disable Performance Counters Windows XP has a performance monitor utility which monitors several areas of your PC's performance. These utilities take up system resources so disabling is a good idea. To disable:
1) download and install the Extensible Performance Counter List
2) Then select each counter in turn in the 'Extensible performance counters' window and clear the 'performance counters enabled' checkbox at the bottom button below

8. Optimise Your Pagefile Windows XP sizes the page file to about 1.5X the amount of actual physical memory by default. While this is good for systems with smaller amounts of memory (under 512MB) it is unlikely that a typical XP desktop system will ever need 1.5 X 512MB or more of virtual memory. If you have less than 512MB of memory, leave the page file at its default size. If you have 512MB or more, change the ratio to 1:1 page file size to physical memory size.
1) Right click on My Computer and select Properties
2) Select the Advanced tab
3) Under Performance choose the Settings button
4) Select the Advanced tab again and under Virtual Memory select Change
5) Highlight the drive containing your page file and make the initial Size of the file the same as the Maximum Size of the file.

9. Improve Memory Usage PC Washer improves the performance of your computer by optimizing the disk cache, memory and a number of other settings.

Once Installed:
1) Click the 'Tools' from the left menu
2) Select 'Memory Booster' in the tools list. A new window named 'PC Turbo Memory' will popup.
3) Click Defragment button in the new window.
4) Exit the program. That's all.

10. Disable unnecessary services Windows XP loads services you will never need. To determine which services you can disable for your client, visit the Black Viper site for ideal Windows XP configurations. Here are a few services I booted off to streamline my PC:

* Background Intelligent Transfer Service
* ClipBook
* Computer Browser
* Error Reporting Service
* Help and Support
* Indexing Service
* IPSEC Services
* Messenger
* NetMeeting Remote Desktop Sharing
* Network DDE
* Network DDE DSDM

* Help Session Manager
* Remote Registry
* Secondary Logon
* Server
* Smart Card
* Smart Card Helper
* SSDP Discovery Service
* System restore Service
* TCP/IP NetBIOS Helper
* Uninterruptible Power Supply

* Windows time
* Wireless Zero Configuration

11. Disconnect USB devices you aren't using. When Windows starts, it must load all the drivers for the devices connected to your computer. If you have many devices connected to the USB ports, such as printers, scanners, cameras and hard drives that you don't use on a regular basis, disconnect them. You can reconnect them when you use them. Disconnecting them when they are not in use will allow Windows to load the drivers only when needed.

The above steps should help increase the performance of Windows XP as well as keep it running with more stability.

This pop and R&B icon will let you feel the "The Beyoncé Experience" in Anaheim on September 1 and in Los Angeles on the following night. The September 1 experience will be held at the Honda Center, which is owned by Honda EGR valve maker, Honda; and the Los Angeles experience will be held at the Staples Center. The opening spot will be soul man Robin Thicke. Tickets in Anaheim range from $59.75 to $125.75, while those for Los Angeles are from $69.50 to $129.50.

Third Day, MercyMe, Chris Tomlin, Kutless, Aaron Shust, Jessie Daniels, Falling Up, Red, Needtobreathe, Deas Vail, the Myriad, Jana Alayra, Rob Biagi and more will be featured in Fishfest 2007 in July 28. It will come to the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine.

Aly & AJ will launch their third album entitled "Insomniatic" on July 10. In lieu of this, the teen pop duo will perform on July 12 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine together with Corbin Bleu, Drake Bell and Bianca Ryan.

Ozzy Osbourne, Lamb of God, Static X, Lordi, Hatebreed, Behemoth, Nick Oliveri and the Mondo Generator and more will perform at the Ozzfest. There are several number of free tickets for this year's July 21 fest stop at Hyundai Pavilion in Devore. Aside from that, there are going to be some special packages for fest-goers but require cash dropping as well. Worth $300, the "Party Like A Rockstar" package includes a general admission ticket (if available), or a seat in the first few rows of the venue, access to the second stage VIP viewing platform and to a VIP area, a behind the scenes recall and an Ozzfest VIP host. Meanwhile, the "I'm Part of the Show" package is worth $666 that includes all those mentioned plus access to be on the stage during Ozzy Osbourne's performance. If you are interested on these packages, you can log in to Ozzfest's website.

Guster will be at the Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa on July 25. Tickets on the show of this alternative rock band will also be available on Saturday.

The Crowded House will be at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Aug. 28. For the performances of Pete Yorn and Liam Finn, ticket prices are at $32.50 to $55. Steve Miller Band will be at the Greek on October 6. Ticket prices are from $35 to $60.

Snow Patrol and Hot Hot Heat will also be at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on July 22 and 23. For $40, you can watch their shows.

The L.A. Jazz Festival featuring Rachelle Ferrell, Boney James, Brian Culbertson and Superstars of Jazz Fusion featuring Roy Akers will also be at the Greek on July 29. Ticket prices range from $45.75 to $87.75. They will go on sale on Friday at 10 in the morning.

Hot Summer Nights will also present Gipsy Kings on Aug. 24 and 25. Ticket prices range from $39.75 to $120.75. Benise will be presented on Oct. 21.

Rick Springfield will have a gig on Aug. 3 at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal City walk with John Waite.

Lisa Lampanelli will have a gig on August 18 at the Wiltern LG in Los Angeles.

The Bangles will perform at the House of Blues Sunset Strip in Hollywood on July 6 while Page McConnell will have a gig on July 7.

The Aggrolites will perform at the Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana on June 6.

At the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, Turn the Page will perform on August 3, Richie Furay on August 17, and Suzanne Vega on November 16.

Peter Bjorn & John, the Swedish singers behind the hit "Young Folks" have rescheduled their canceled night at the Fonda in Hollywood for July 31. On the same venue, gypsy punk band Gogol Bordello will play on August 28 and Rocco DeLuca and the Burden on July 6.

Black Light Burns, a Bavarian-rock band featuring former Nine Inch Nails guitarist Danny Lohner, Telefon Tel Aviv's Josh Eustis and drummer Josh Freese, will play at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles on June 8.

On the same venue, Klaxons will perform on July 10 while Shout Out Louds will have a gig on July 19.

Blonde Redhead will perform at the Glass House in Pomona on August 19.

Adema will play at the Vault 350 in Long Beach on June 27. On the same venue, Pink Floyd tribute band Which Ones Pink? will also play at the venue on Aug. 4.

Many scientists and physicians believe that the obesity epidemic is the most serious health threat facing the population of our state. Pretty self-explanatory isn’t it? It’s a stereo system in a car, you say. Whoa, hold your horses, it’s not that simple. Although some people like to put home stereos in their cars and vans (out of dire need for some sounds), sometimes it just doesn’t work. Yeah, maybe before it could’ve worked just fine, all you needed was radio and a cassette player (or 8 tracks, for the inner dinosaur in you) so sure, lug those big box speakers into the back seat and you’ll be blaring down the highway. But nowadays there are things like cd players and mp3 players and your popup LCD panels and all that techie knickknack you’d think they’d like to build a home theater system right smack on the console of your van. If you don’t know anything about these things but would like to have some sounds in your car anyway, here are some things to know about a car stereo.

As mentioned above, at first units and speakers from home audio systems and professional markets were just simply installed into vehicles. However, they were not well suited to the extremes of temperature and vibration which are a normal part of the environment of an automobile. Car stereo enthusiasts were not satisfied with the sound quality of regular car sound systems, and with the advent of the CD player, they really had to start modifying some of these home stereos in order to work well in a car environment and voila!, now we have the modern car stereo.

If you have a new car, first hand bought, say from about 90 to present, chances are you already have a “factory” car stereo in your car. It means the car manufacturer already included a car stereo system in your car, unless specified in the car model but most often this is the case. Some car manufacturers make their own car stereos, like BMW which includes a pretty decent car stereo package head unit and speakers. It is a standard which comes with all their cars (which isn’t surprising considering that BMW is included in the league of “luxury car manufacturers”). Or like Mercedes Benz or Volkswagen, they use car stereo systems from a German audio manufacturer called Blaupunkt.

A standard car stereo (also called a head unit) usually includes an auto-reverse tape deck, a cd player and sometimes the optional changer – a device which automatically changes the cd in play. On newer car models, the car stereo can also play mp3s and other digital audo file types like WMA and AAC, whether on a cd or a memory device which can be hooked up to the head unit.

The car stereo head unit is connected to several speakers. Older car models usually just had one speaker mounted underneath the dashboard, pointing through perforations towards the front windshield. The standard for car stereo nowadays is a pair of “tweeters” (used to bring out high treble) on the driver side/front passenger side dashboard, a pair of normal “mid” speakers on both doors, sometimes even the backseat passeger doors if it’s a large car and larger speakers capable of bringing out low ends at the back protion of the backseats.

Your car stereo is probably ok as it is, as car manufacturers ensure that the audio products that come with their cars can handle most dirver’s listening demands. But if you think that what you have isn’t enough, you can always CUSTOMIZE.

To be waterproof is to resist the water in certain levels, submerging in under the water to get the perfect shot is like throwing it out of the window expecting a pick-up truck to pass by and run over it.

Now if you’re really serious about using an underwater digital camera to capture those wacky and funny moments underwater, I suggest that you buy specialty cameras.

There are rarely underwater digital cameras, as cameras are electronic and cannot withstand water and water pressure. The closest electronics has ever got to producing underwater digital cameras are producing underwater casings for digital cameras. These casing will turn your conventional digital camera into an underwater digital camera.

If you are shooting with your underwater digital camera, you need to take note of a few things to help you come up with the best images underwater.

Remember that as you farther under water, light diffuses. This means that your underwater digital camera will produce images darker than those images you took while on land – this is because of the light diffusion the red spectrum seems darker. To avoid this, use white balance come up with natural colors. Also, pictures taken underwater will come up larger than pictures taken on land with the same zoom effect. Be sure to check your underwater digital camera’s viewfinder to check the right picture angle and size that you want.

An underwater digital camera with its built-in flash will produce marine show phenomenon. It is a phenomenon wherein your pictures come out as blurry and with white particles floating above it, to avoid this phenomenon it is advisable to use external flash for your underwater digital camera.

Also, remember to always wash of salt when you’ve used it under salt water. If the salts are not washed off, in time they will crystallize; act as sands and cause leaks for your camera case. In cases when sands seem to get into the case, they are better washed off with streams of water.

Camping and Tent Tips

LOCATION

Avoid camping in low places--Air flow gets stagnant and typically moisture settles more. Also, if it rains whilst your tent is up, there's a greater chance of water collecting when you're camped in a low lying area. Lastly, position your tent so that your head is uphill wherever you camp (seeing as most locations are rarely ever flat).

Ventilation--It's better to face the tail of your tent into prevailing winds. This will maximize air flow. Scrutinize the area--Check the area for sharp objects that may damage your tent before setting up camp.

Set Up-- Once your tent is set up, if you notice wrinkles running from one corner to the next (interior), this means that you've pulled the tent too tightly in that direction. Reposition the stakes until the floor evens out.

Looking Good--Last but certainly not least: If you've never set up your tent before, it's best to practice at home until you can do it in your sleep (bit of an exaggeration...but you know what I mean). This will save you any embarrassment later on in the 'Real World'.

TENT CARE

Keep it dry-- Never store your tent when it's wet or damp! Consequences of forgetting this cardinal rule is mildew damage and tent stink. So, dry it after use (but not in direct sunshine).

Reduce condensation build up--Sometimes condensation may become a real issue, especially in certain types of tents. One of the ways to combat this, is to spray the outside of your tent with a product like ReviveX which beads up water so it rolls off the tent's surface (think of water rolling off a duck's back). Ground Cloth--Use one. It will protect your tent bottom from protruding objects.

Sweep out your tent--accumulated dirt between your sleeping bag and the floor will gradually erode the tent floor. Sunshine--Don't leave your tent in the sun for prolonged periods--ultra-violet rays damage the tent fabric and its waterproofing capabilities. If you can, set up in the shade.

Seams--Seal them all. In this particular case, water is not your friend. Keep it out!

Transporting your tent--Constantly folding your tent the same way will eventually cause creases that will compromise its weatherproofing and ultimately crack the fabric itself. Solution? Stuff it for transportation.

Packaging of your tent--The keyword here is "carefully" (assuming you have any concern about its lifespan). Poles dent, break, chip and cords stretch. Also bear in mind that poles and stakes can tear and poke holes in the tent fabric.

TENT TYPES

The following is not an indepth treatise of the types of tents available but rather a brief review.

Dome Tents

This type of tent has a rudimentary dome shape formed by inward curving walls that meet atop at the apex. Advantages: ample headroom and ability to sit upright. Disadvantages: Two pole design leaves a significant portion of unsupported tent material restricting this type of tent's use to moderate weather conditions.

Modified Dome Tents

Same as the dome tent with a few variations: addition of more poles plus cross-section rods, as well as tapered ends. Advantages: better able to withstand harsh weather and mounting wind levels.

Pyramid Tent

In essence this is little more than a waterproof tarp staked to the ground and draped over a central pole. Advantages: easy to set up. Disadvantages: it's sheer simplicity does not accomadate for the presence of bugs and other crawlies.

Tunnel Tent

As the name suggests this type of tent is designed in the shape of a tunnel. Usually the front has the most ceiling height (just enough to sit up) and tapers towards the rear. This tent type incorporates a single or dual pole design with the longer pole upfront. Advantages: Very lightweight. Disadvantages: Design type tends towards being cramped

The Japanese word "Ju" in Judo means "mild" and "natural" and "do" means "art" and "way." Judo therefore denotes "way to peace" or may be translated as "the Way of gentleness," with the implication of first giving way to ultimately gain victory.

Judo training has many forms for different interests. Some students study the traditional art and forms (kata) of Judo. Other students train for competition by sparring and entering the many tournaments that are available. Other students train for self-defense, and yet other students practice Judo for fun and recreation. Black belts are expected to learn all aspects of Judo.

The most important principle of Judo as practiced was to disturb the center of gravity of the opponent, and then pull or push in a way that the opponent cannot stand, exerting skill rather than strength, so that he might lose his equilibrium and fall heavily to the ground. A series of rules was taught respecting the different motions of feet, legs, arms, hands, the thigh and back, in order to accomplish this object.

Judo is an art, after all, a practical approach to life. Judo develops complete body control, fine balance, and fast reflexive action. Develops a keen desire to coordinate mind and body. Also, provides the means for learning self-confidence, concentration, and leadership skills, as well as physical coordination, power, and flexibility.

How To Be Hot When Your Not!

So I am Single. I have been dating since high school and have had a few boyfriends but nothing healthy or long lasting. I have had my heartbroken and honestly, can't remember breaking any myself. I have met so many men from different backgrounds and different cultures.

I rarely have a boyfriend long enough for my friends and family to meet them. Every so often someone gets a glimpse of one of my dates, and this is the only proof that some of them actually exist.

So I have had my heart broken, been dumped, rejected, denied and fired....and I still feel on top of this beautiful, exciting and promising world. I feel this way because I know that the man of my dreams is out there. I just know it! I am thankful that these men have moved on briskly because if the losers stick around, I wont be available when Mr Right gets here. So I have changed what getting dumped means to me and crazily enough, after shedding a tear or two, especially for the ones I thought id marry, I get excited!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand just because we are ladies in waiting, it does not mean that we cant have a little fun now does it? Of course not! So let me give you a some tips on how to do that ;-)

Tip #1 Fake it till you make it!

People believe what they see. Men are attracted to modest confidence, womanliness and the biggest most important one of all....Mystery! They love it!! So if you are not already one of those girls....start there! The real lessons will come later!

Tip #2 Don't have to be rich to wear hot clothes?

If you haven't already noticed....the whole entire fashion world is based on peoples ideas on what is cool and wearable. The people that start these trends are people like you and me. So whats stopping us from using our creativity? Nothing! I like beautiful new season clothes from Portmans and Principles but the truth is...I cant afford it all the time! So I improvise. I find and outfit that suits my figure perfectly and duplicate it in heaps of different colors and accessories. Your sure to always look good. Don't forget to watch a little MTV or E Channel to get the latest scoop in fashion too!

Tip #3 Less Is More

Easy on the War Paint! I love make up...adore it! Would be lost without it. However, I have seen sooooooooooooo many girls out there who pile on the make up. There is a huge difference between day wear, evening wear and dress ups. Day wear you want to have something very natural. Foundation (maybe some powder or bronzer), a little eye brow pencil, mascara that lengthens and frames your eyes and your favorite gloss is all you need. Ensure you blend that foundation in.....theres nothing worse then a mask line between your face and neck.
Evening, the same but add shimmer on your check bones and maybe a little more mascara and a darker shade of gloss.
Dressups - (maybe out to night clubs) Go for it! Anything goes really.....depends on who you are wanting to impress. Check out whats the latest on E Channel, MTV and Mags for tips. Bonus Tip: Guys like a natural looking girl. When there is too much make up they cant help but wonder what is going on under it!!!

Tip #4 Attitude is everything...

If your having a rough time loving who you are then obviously you have had either a broken heart, someones hurt you, someones made you feel inadequate or you watch to much t.v. We may not all look like models but who freakin does? There are things about my body I hate....heaps of them....but guess what. Certain Bras make my boobs look great and Baby Doll dress and tops hide my tummy and dresses and skirts hide my pudgy legs. So when looking in the mirror after I have worked my magic....I think nothing but.... fabulous! Find what you love about you and accentuate it! You need to believe you are worth being loved and you need to believe you are super hot!! If you believe it, they will believe it!

Tip #5 Smile...

People are attracted to positivity. Don't believe me??? Try it. Not once and awhile. All the time.....see what starts to happen when you smile. The boys boys wonder what the mystery behind that cute smile is all about.

Tip #6 Smell Good...

Have a couple of delicious perfumes that people will remember you by. Day and Evening fragrances. Don't load it on, just enough so that when someone walks by they catch a hint of your mesmerising scent.

Tip #7 Don't be too eager...

When you are approached by a man and he does ask you out, which he will. Whether it be randomly, over the net or set up by a friend (I meet most of my men over the net). Don't put everything off for him immediately and say YES YES YES! Be calm, think about the date and say "that sounds really nice, can I just check on a few things and get back to you"? Then grab his no. and the next day call him and politely make a time that suits you both. Your a lady after all.

Tip #8 Finally...

Be yourself....how is someone supposed to like you if your not even being you. Be calm, cool and collected. It is normal for us women to have a man half way down the isle on the first date.....but don't bloody tell him that! LOL Joke a bit, smile, be polite and don't do anything you don't feel comfortable doing. Just because he finds you hot doesn't mean you have to feel the same....and never ever sleep with a man on the first date.....ever!

The Evolution of the Golf Ball

The Wooden Ball

When golf first came about, the balls used were made from hardwoods such as beech and crudely rounded with tools. This period lasted from the 14th Century to the 17th Century.

In the late 16th Century it is recorded that one William Mayne was producing clubs for the nobility in Scotland. In 1603 Mayne, a bowmaker by trade was appointed, among other things, clubmaker to King James VI of Scotland, shortly before his accession to the throne of England.

Record books also show that in 1447 King James II issued his now famous edict in Parliament that golf was to be outlawed. His concern was that his subjects were more interested in golf than training how to use the warfare weapons of their time! Worried this would leave his country defenceless; he banned golf (although it was still played, just not by the masses.)

The Feather Ball

The feather ball period was the longest period of stability in the history of the golf ball. The feathery ball period lasted from as early as the 14th Century to as late as the 16th Century and was produced until the early 1850's. In its beginnings the leather golf balls were likely to have been filled with wool or hair.
These balls quickly lost their resilience and ultimately it was discovered that the use of feathers produced a livelier and longer lasting ball.

Producing a feathery was a time consuming process that required considerable expertise. The craftsmen themselves vied with each other for the contracts from the richest patrons of the game and were often scathing about the results their competitors achieved.

Enough feathers went into each ball to fill a Top Hat and contrary to the name of this ball it was as hard as a stone and could travel in excess of 250yds.
Feather golf balls were not round and were more often than not oblong in shape. There were a variety of sizes and weights and the ball would be marked with its weight in drams clearly visible along with the maker's name. Despite not being round feathery golf balls did fly and roll with remarkable trueness and were perfectly suited to the crude greens of the day.

The Gutty Ball

This is where the modern era started, with the feathery being replaced by the gutty.
The industrial revolution was booming in the UK and factories started to manufacture many more products using rubber...it was only a matter of time before someone would substitute the feathery with a more durable material.

In the end Reverend James Patterson, a keen golfer discovered the gutty-percha whilst on missionary work in Malaysia. Gutty-percha is a similar material to rubber that is made from the dried sap of a tree and James discovered almost by mistake that this material could be used to make golf balls with.

Two-piece metal mouldings were made to produce perfectly round spheres. At first only smooth balls were manufactured but golfers soon began to realise that the more the ball nicked and marked, the easier it was to predict their shots. This eventually led to manufacturers producing gutty balls with surface markings to enhance their aerodynamic qualities.

Quickly these balls were being made at a fraction of the cost of the feathery and eventually the game of golf became affordable to the general public.

The Bramble

The balls were known as brambles as the balls resembled the fruit found on brambles with a raised dimple pattern on the golf ball. Originally bramble balls were entirely made of gutty-percha and covered with a bramble pattern cover. This ball soon overtook the gutty as the preferred choice of the then pro golfers and heralded the beginning of the dimpled ball as we know it today.

The Mesh

During the beginning of the twentieth century, there was a boom in golf ball manufacturers around the country, each experimenting with rubber core mesh balls. It was this period that the modern day golf ball as we now it know came about. Early dimple balls created during the early 1900's were proving to offer players greater spin and feel and an Englishman called William Taylor patented the dimple method in 1905.

Spalding USA immediately purchased the rights for this patent and began to manufacturer dimple balls as early as 1909.

Until the patent expired in the 1920's every company attempted to obtain an advantage over their competitors by designing unique mesh type patterns on golf balls. There was the Rifled Ball - designed like the barrel of a gun - which according to adverts would fly like a bullet. It did, but only if you hit it 100% straight - otherwise it was off - spinning everywhere.

There were raised banana shapes, donut dimples, Stars, Circles, and Hexagons you name it they tried it!

One by one these balls eventually were superseded by another new pattern, and so on, until eventually the square mesh ball became standard. More and more of the small golf ball manufacturers were squeezed out of the market by the larger corporations such as Spalding, Dunlop, Slazenger, Wilson etc, and by the end of the 40's the market was dominated by the same leading golf manufacturers as today's market, with the exception of a Scottish firm called St Mungo who in 1935 dominated the UK market, along with Spalding.

With the development of golf balls progressing at an alarming rate the U.S.G.A, fearful of the skill level required to play golf being continually compromised by the golf ball manufacturers, decided to standardize the weight and size of golf balls. In 1931 the U.S.G.A ruled that no ball played in their championships could weigh more than 1.55 oz, or was smaller than 1.68" in diameter. These new sizes were not popular with the British golfers, as the windswept links of yesteryear required different flight characteristics from a ball.

In January 1932 the Royal & Ancient Golf Association and the U.S.G.A reached a partial compromise on weight and size with the maximum weight being 1.62 oz and a minimum of 1.62" in diameter. The U.S.G.A accepted the new weight but maintained 1.68" as the diameter.

With technology constantly improving the driving distance of new balls, the U.S.G.A developed a machine to test the velocity of golf balls in 1941 and in 1942 set the velocity limit at 250 feet. Eventually by 1940 more or less all balls manufactured were the dimple style and the manufacturers turned their research to improving the golf ball within the rules of the game.

With the exception of the one-piece rubber balls, which were introduced in the 1960's -this was the last major period of change in golf balls until today's multi-layer golf balls were introduced.

Varities of Healthy And Easy To Cook Trout Recipe

Trouts are fresh water fishes and commercially farmed for sports fishing and human consumption.

We've eaten trout for hundreds of years now and trout can be cooked in plenty of ways. Let me share with you some good trout recipes and different simple ways how to cook trout. Hope you enjoy cooking them!

ESCALLOPED TROUT

Boil two trout in salted water, drain and flake, removing all the bones. Fry a small chopped onion in butter, add a tablespoonful of flour and two cupfuls of milk. Cook until thick, stirring constantly. Put a layer of the boned fish in a buttered baking-pan, add a layer of the sauce, sprinkle with minced parsley, and repeat until the dish is full. Cover with crumbs, dot with butter, and brown in the oven.

TENDERLOIN OF TROUT WITH WINE SAUCE

Cut a large sea-trout in pieces and simmer until done in salted and acidulated boiling water to which a large sliced onion has been added. Drain and keep warm. Cook together two tablespoonfuls each of butter and flour and add enough of the liquid drained from the fish to make a thick sauce. Cook until thick, stirring constantly,take from the fire, add one cupful of Madeira wine and three eggs well-beaten. Put the fish in a buttered baking-pan, sprinkle with seasoned crumbs, cover with mushrooms, then with oysters and shrimps. Pour the sauce over and bake until the oysters are done. Serve in the dish in which it was baked.

TROUT WITH FINE HERBS

Put half a dozen cleaned trout in a buttered baking-dish with half a glassful of white wine, and a finely chopped shallot. Bake for ten minutes, strain the liquid, and add to it one cupful of Allemande Sauce. Add also a small chopped onion, two shallots, twice the quantity of mushrooms, and a bean of garlic, all minced and fried in butter. Season with salt, pepper, minced parsley, and lemon-juice; pour over the fish and serve.

BROOK-TROUT IN PAPER CASES

Stuff the fish with seasoned crumbs or chopped oysters or raw fish pounded to a pulp and mixed to a paste with the beaten white of egg and a little cream. Lay a very thin slice of salt pork on each fish and wrap in buttered paper. Bake in a hot oven. Remove the string and serve in the paper. Serve any preferred sauce separately.

Remember how your relationship was in the very beginning?

You stayed up all night talking about everything - your dreams and desires and even the things that scare or embarrass you. But then, as the relationship went a long, you stopped talking about so much. Everything became so heavy and meaningful.

In the beginning, things were great. There was a level of trust and open communication that created intimacy and understanding. So, what happened to that? Where did it go and how can you get it back?

I used to try to protect my partner from those heavy, bad moods and ugly thoughts. I went to my room and hung out until I felt like socializing again.

I thought I was noble in my ability to control what came out of my mouth.

I thought I was kind because I never let on what I was thinking.

But what I was doing was ruining my relationships. There was no relationship. I was cutting myself off from others and never allowing them to know me. They never knew what I was thinking or feeling or needing.

I was an island. A very lonely island.

I really thought that if I let people know the ugly thoughts, not only would they be hurt - but they would probably become angry and disown me - betray me, talk shit behind my back. I would be the outcast.

Another tip: when you offer your feelings and needs, it's best to follow them with a request. If you offer them without a request, your partner won't know why you're giving them the information.

Often, a comment without a request will be taken as blame... which will lead to fixing, fighting or fleeing. Don't leave your poor partner hanging.

Paul and I recommend asking, "Would you tell me what you heard me say?" (Avoid saying 'could'- it implies they aren't intelligent enough to repeat you. And avoid saying "What did I say?" because what you said and what they heard are two different things.)

And one more tip: don't think that little behaviors are enough to be warranted as 'sharing feelings and needs.' Fixing your honey a cup of coffee in the morning is very sweet, but it may not communicate your feelings of love and contentment like actually verbalizing the information. "I love you so much", PLUS the cup of coffee goes much further.

Frowning and throwing around the bed covers while you make the bed may not adequately communicate your feelings and needs, either.

Instead, say: "I'm feeling disappointed because my need for support around the house isn't being met. Would you be willing to discuss a way to help that would also meet your needs?"

There's no room for misinterpretation there.

Try it out this holiday season: make a pact with your beloved to share absolutely ALL your feelings and needs for one day - the good, the bad and the ugly. Then follow the information with a request.

Be prepared to spend some time processing and discussing those feelings and needs as they come up.

However, try to avoid getting into BLAMING and 'FAULT' behind the feelings and needs. That tends to end up in a free-for-all about evaluations and judgments - who's right and who's wrong. Try to stick with feelings, needs and requests.

Try to do this on a day when you'll have the time.

You won't want to get cut off because you have to run to pick up the kids right when you're getting to the heart of an issue that's snuck up silently between you.

You're going to want to stay and hold each other and talk it through... and feel the intimacy of clearing out all of those old, crusty feelings and unmet needs that have been clogging the flow of love.

Lemon Tuna Pasta

4 tsp Butter 18 Black olives, pitted and sliced 1 tsp Oil; olive 2 can Tuna; chunk, drained 4 large Garlic cloves, chopped Pasta; penne, cooked and drained 1/8 cup Lemon juice 4 tsp Butter (add at end) 3 tsp Capers, drained
Melt butter with oil in skillet. Add garlic and cook 2 minutes. Add lemon juice, capers and olives and cook another 2 minutes. Turn heat to lowest setting. Add tuna and separate it (DO NOT FLAKE) with a fork. Heat through stirring gently, drain pasta. Add remainder of butter and sauce to hot pasta, tossing well.
Tomato Soup with Pasta

3 tbsp Olive oil 1/2 tsp Black pepper 1 small Onion, chopped 1 tsp Basil 1 lb Tomatoes chopped 3 pt Stock 1 Carrot, sliced 1 cup Small pasta / broken vermicelli 1 Celery stick, sliced 1 tbsp Chopped parsley 1 tsp Salt
Heat oil in soup pot and gently fry the onion for 2 minutes. Add tomatoes, carrot and celery. Mix well with the oil. Sprinkle in the seasonings and stir together. Fry for 3 minutes. Add stock and bring to a boil. Simmer for 10 minutes then add pasta. When pasta is tendered, served and garnished with parsley.

Does Using Water for Gas in Cars Really Work? Is it a Scam?

To find out how well these new water car products work, I downloaded one of the most popular guides and set out to do my own experiment. I own a 2005 Hyundai Elantra that I would be outfitting with this setup for the test. Before the modification, my car got approximately 28 MPG with mostly city driving.

Upon downloading the guide, I was given two options- I could either buy the components and assemble the water for gas system on my own, or I could buy a ready made system from a recommended dealer. The complete setup from the dealer cost $65, so I opted to go that route simply for the time and hassel savings, though judging by the manual, the system would have been easy to setup on my own.

Installing the system, or HHO (hydrogen energy) generator was really pretty simple. I am not a mechanic, and am far from being the most mechanically inclined person, but I can tighten a screw or two, and thats basically all I needed to do. The system basically just mounts under the hood in the engine compartment, and connects to the battery terminals to enable it to "charge" the water to produce energy. Simple enough! It is also recommended to upgrade to spark plugs specially designed for this system, which I did, and I recommend you do as well.

With the system in place, I simply had to fill it with water and a bit of baking soda and I was ready for the test. On a side note, very little water is actually used in this system. The concept is to basically extract energy from the water, instead of necessarily "burning" the water as fuel. In fact, a couple ounces will keep this system going for weeks.

Upon starting my car and driving it a few blocks around the neighborhood, I noticed the engine ran a slight bit quieter, but quite a bit smoother. The increase in smoothness was most noticeable. Pickup seemed about the same, if not a bit better with the HHO system installed. Overall, I'd say there was a slight performance increase, although that was not necessarily the reason for this upgrade.

The reason to install the hydrogen energy system in my car was for fuel savings, but did it deliver? As I mentioned previously, my Hyundai averaged 28 MPG before the test. And after the test? The first tank I calculated 38 MPG and subsequent tanks calculated out to 40 MPG. This is over a 35% increase, making it well worth the investment. I am not entirely sure why the mileage got even better after the first tank of gas, other than possibly some sort of break-in period.

So did running my car with water for gas really work? Absolutely! Though the name of the technology is somewhat misleading, as you are not actually burning water, just using it to enhance the energy produced by the gasoline, the concept still works, and that is what is most important!

One fine day you start your PC and get messages that say,’Book Disk failure’. The problem is that the hard disk is detected but the OS does not load. The system may get stuck in the second screen during the booting process or the OS might display an error message and refuse to load. Such situations can be troublesome as they leave you with very few troubleshooting options.

One of the common problems in dual boot systems is of the boot loader getting corrupted. For example, you have a system running Windows XP and Linux using Lila as boot loader. If Lila gets corrupted, you cannot boot into either OS.When this happens, you have to boot into the system using some other media, such as a boot floppy or the Windows Dafter booting go to the command prompt, type â€˜fdisk/mbrâ€™ and press [Enter]. Note that if you use Windows 2000 or XP, boot into the recovery console and give the command â€˜fixmbrâ€™ to clear the MBR. Unfortunately, after you restart, it will boot to Windows directly, without any option of booting into Linux. You will have to restore LiLo again from your Linux CD, or reinstall boot loaders such as XOSL from Windows.

If your problem persists, or if you never used a boot loader, than boot into the system from a boot floppy or the Windows CD.Windows 2000 and XP users should boot into the recovery console. Go to the command prompt and give the command fdisfk/mbrâ€™and then give the command â€˜sys Câ€™. This clears the MBR, and makes the bootable partition C, Windows 2000 and XP users should give the command â€˜fixmbrâ€™ andâ€™ fixbootâ€™ C: to do the same. Then restart the system to boot into the OS.

If you still have trouble, you might have a virus on your PCâ€™s boot sector .It is difficult to confirm an infection without a virus scan. Thesymptoms of an infections-applications slowing down or many unrecognized files appearing in the system-should give you a clue. For example Windows 98 and Me users might see a message during boot up that says,â€ No valid FAT on boot driveâ€ this is caused due to a boot sector virus called stoned Monk. Even reinstalling Windows might give you an error message that says, â€œYour computer already has an operating system installedâ€. Then best solution is to connect the hard disk to another system, and scan with an anti virus tool. You can also create a rescue disk for the anti virus tool and scan the system using it.

If nothing mentioned above seems to work. Then you have a serious problem at hand. Connect it to some other system and try to access the data if you can, then your boot record is damaged. Otherwise the service center beckons.

1/2 cp. fresh espresso
2 1/2 cp. low fat milk (2%)
1/4 cp. granulated sugar
1 tbsp. dry pectin

Combine all the ingredients in a pitcher or covered container. Stir or shake until sugar is dissolved. Chill and serve cold. Makes 24 ounces.

To make the "Mocha" variety:
Add a pinch (1/16 tsp.) of cocoa powder to the mixture before combining.

To make espresso with a drip coffee maker and standard grind coffee: Use 1/3 cp. ground coffee and 1 cp. water. Brew once then run coffee through the machine again, same grounds. Makes about 1/2 cp fresh espresso to use in the above recipe.

6 Seafood Grilling Tips

Grilling season is here. You've got your grill full of gas, you've stocked up on hamburgers, hot dogs, and steaks, and you're ready to go. But those hamburgers, hot dogs, and steaks are getting old fast. You'd like to try something else for a change. If you're looking to change up your usual grilling menu, why not try seafood? Fish makes a healthy meal, and grills up quite easily. Seafood does present some grilling challenges, however. These tips should help you on your way to grilling great seafood.

1) Make sure your grill is clean and oiled. Fish sticks to the grill very easily, so proper lubrication is essential. If you don't oil your grill, the fish will stick, and break apart when you try to remove it. Grab a wad of paper towels, or a rolled up kitchen towel in a pair of tongs. Dip the paper towels or kitchen towel into some vegetable oil, and rub the oil onto the grill. You can also spray the grill with cooking spray, just be sure the grill is off when you do this, or the spray could ignite, injuring you.

2) Use fresh fish if possible, since it is easier to work with than frozen fish. Each serving should be about 6-8 ounces for fillets or steaks, and 8-12 ounces for whole fish.

3) You can place fish directly on the grill, but if you do this, you should use a firm fleshed fish, like grouper, tuna, swordfish, or salmon. You can also buy grill baskets made for grilling seafood. These will help small pieces of fish from falling through the grill, and will help in grilling delicate fillets.

4) Cook the fish over medium-hot to hot heat. If your grill doesn't have a thermometer, then hold your hand about 5 inches above the heat. If you can hold your hand there for 2 seconds, the temperature is hot. If you can hold your hand 5 inches from the heat for 3-4 seconds, it is medium hot. If you're cooking whole fish, you'll need to have the temperature a bit lower, so the fish won't burn. You should plan on cooking the fish for about 10 minutes for every inch of thickness. The fish is done cooking when it is opaque, and begins to flake. It is better to undercook the fish a bit than overcooking it. You can always cook it some more if it is undercooked, but you can't uncook it if it is overcooked.

5) Marinades are a good way to add flavor and moisture to the fish before cooking. You only need to marinate fish for 30-60 minutes. If you marinate the fish for too long, the acids in the marinade will start to cook and break down the flesh. Lean fish should also be basted during cooking to keep the fish from drying out. Fattier fish, like tuna and salmon don't need basting, but you can baste them to add more flavor.

6) Shrimp, Scallops, and chunks of firm fleshed fish work well on skewers. Alternate chunks of seafood with chunks of vegetables on a skewer for great seafood kebobs. If you're using wooden skewers, be sure to soak them for 30 minutes before grilling to prevent them from burning on the grill.

It isn't hard to grill seafood, but it does take some practice. Follow these tips for grilling seafood, and expand your grilling repertoire. It's a great break from hamburgers, hot dogs, and steaks.

No Sound From Speakers?

You have a sound card and a set of speakers, but for the life of you, you cannot get them to work. Most of the time, this is caused by carelessness. Though it sounds idiotic, the first step is to check the connections. Most people accidentally plug the speaker jack into the Line-in Jack of the sound card. Check to see if this is not so in your case. If you have amplified speakers, make sure that the power is on and mute is not.

The next step is to see where the trouble lies. Many-a-times, people spend hours trying to fix a system that hasnâ€™t broken. Check to see if the speakers work properly before trying to troubleshoot your system. Do this by connecting the speakers to a music system or radio. If they do, the problem is definitely system related.

The first thing to do now is to check the volume levels in the system. Check the volume controller in the system tray and also open the advanced audio controls to make sure that all is well-nothing is muted or at really love levels Now use several multimedia applications to play various media files to insure that the problem is truly system related, and not limited to a particular application or file. If you find that only a certain application has the problem, such as Windows Media Player or Winamp, reinstall it.

If all this is to no avail, go to the system properties [Windows] + [Pause/Break] or right-click on my computer and select Properties and in device manager make sure that sound card is installed properly. Look for a yellow exclamation mark, if it present, you will have to reinstall the drivers.

If you have an integrated sound card that is disabled in the BIOS, then Windows will not be able to detect it. Refer to your motherboard manual, and find out how to enable the same. Usually it is present under the advanced peripherals section in BIOS.

If you have access to another PC, plug the sound card into that system, and check if it is working. If the problem persists, off to a technician you go.

As they have done with previous works, Ritchie Blackmore and Candice Night have used traditional melodies and blended them with contemporary music to produce a style of music best defined as Renaiisance Folk Rock.

As before, Blackmore's brilliant guitar is complemented by Night's lyrics and vocals.
Secret Voyage consists of twelve new tracks. Their latest offering has apprently been inspired by nature and incorporates both acoustic and electric guitars, strings, renaissance instruments.

History:

The band originated in 1990 when Candice Night was working at a New York radio station. She met Ritchie Blackmore at a soccer game in which he was playing. The two realised they shared an interest in the Renaissance and subsequently entered into a relationship.

Ritchie Blackmore left Deep Purple in 1993 and two years later he recorded the album Stranger in Us All. Candice Night sang backing vocals and contributed to some of the lyrics.

It was at this point that Blackmore became interested in the idea of bringing Renaissance music to a contemporary audience. He decided that Night's personality and voice made her the natural choice as lead singer.
They launched their new band in 1997, with session musicians rounding out the line-up.

The first album, Shadow of the Moon, was a success. As the band continued, rock guitar became more and more influential although, paradoxically, Night contributed more in the way of Renaissance instruments.

The group performs at Renaissance events, as well as touring in their own right. They tend to favour castles as venues and their audience will typically dress in period costume. The success of the band has even spawned two tribute bands - Renaissance Night and Italian Morning Star.

High Definition TeleVision is what HDTV literally means. But high definition compared to what? In order to answer this question, we need to know a bit about the original analog TV system.

Analog TV
30 images per second (in Europe 25) are shown by normal analog TV sets. It does this by writing image lines horizontally, 525 lines in one image (In Europe 625) on the screen. The number of pixels on one line is about 500. This would be a definition of 500 pixels per line by 525 (or 625) lines. Compared to modern computer monitors this is really bad. Even the lowest resolutions monitors have higher resolutions (640 x 480) than an analog TV.

HDTV - High Definition TeleVision
HDTV is high resolution Digital TeleVision (DTV) combined with Dolby Digital Surround Sound (AC-3). There are 18 different formats defined for Digital TV of which 6 are considered to be HDTV.

The difference between Progressive and Interlaced is not difficult. It has to do with how one image is built up. With interlaced technology the odd lines are shown first and then the even lines are shown. The lines are shown in this order: 1,3,5,â€¦.521, 523, 525, 2, 4, 6,â€¦. 522, 524, 1, 3, etc. This means that every 1/60 of a second a half image is shown. This often results in flickering, which can be tiring for the eyes.

The aspect ration of normal TV is 4 x 3 (4/3 times wider than high). An HDTV screen has an aspect ration of 16 x 9, which is also known as wide screen.

The FCC (Federal Communications Committee) has mandated that all TV stations in the USA have to be able to broadcast HDTV programs by the year 2006. The mandates of the FCC do not have an impact on just the broadcast companies, but also on cable companies and consumers.

Broadcast companies have to invest on new equipment like cameras, editing equipment, etc.

Cable companies have to convert all of their equipment, including receivers at the homes of their clients.

Therefore a color TV signal still needed to be understandable for a black and white TV. This prohibited the improvement of picture quality until the age of Digital TV.
